Home and Away stars Emily Weir and Shane Withington struck up a close bond after meeting on the Channel 5 soap in 2019, but there is one thing they haven’t yet spoken about.
The actress, 32, made her debut as Mackenzie Booth four years ago while Shane, 64, first portrayed John Palmer 10 years prior in 2009.
Recalling the moment she first met the Veteran actor, Emily admitted she was “totally fangirling” at the time.

“I was such a big fan of the show before I joined, so I was totally fangirling when I met Shane,” the brunette beauty told New Idea.
While it doesn’t seem like the two would have much in common on the surface, they quickly developed a close friendship and now consider themselves “besties”.

Gushing over his co-star, the Aussie actor said: “She’s gorgeous, witty, talented, fun to be around and has a maturity far beyond her years,” as Emily added: “I just love him to bits”.
She went on to say that despite Shane being on the show for more than a decade, he treats everyone the same on set and is someone she aspires to be like.
“Shane was so welcoming and friendly to me on that first day,” the star explained.
“But I quickly noticed that he treated everyone the same, whether they’re the cleaner, the caterer, the star or the CEO, he’s kind to everyone and I aspired to be that.”
While the world knows Shane’s on-screen wife to be Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons), the actor has been happily married to his former on-screen wife Anne Tenney for more than 30 years.
The pair first met on the hit 80s Australian soap opera A Country Practice, where they played on-screen couple Brendan and Molly Jones.
But despite Shane knowing all the secrets to a successful relationship, Emily admitted dating is “the one thing” she hasn’t spoken to him about.
“That’s the one thing I haven’t asked him about,” she laughed, adding: “Though now I think I should!”
She instead turns to Shane for advice on life, health and her career.
Although they share a sweet friendship off-screen, their characters rarely have scenes together, but Shane revealed he is trying to rectify this.
“I’m bugging the writers for John and Mackenzie to have more scenes together,” he said.
