Briana DeJesus is dedicated to co-parenting with Devoin Austin.
The mom of two, 30, invited Devoin’s family over to celebrate Thanksgiving together after her daughter Nova’s therapist shared the 13-year-old would like to see both sides of her family together more. As they enjoyed the holiday, Devoin stepped away from the action, with Briana following to share some important news.
“I’m glad you’re out here because I wanted to talk to you about Miss Nova,” she began, asking Devoin if he knew Nova was in therapy. He knew she’d gone before but wasn’t aware it’s now “consistent.”
“She’s been going every week. They did an assessment or evaluation just to see what’s going on with her, and they diagnosed her with a few things in this paperwork,” she said, passing a file folder to him.

“I want you to have it just so you can go over it, but basically in here saying how Nova… how you leaving affects her so bad. Like, really bad, like she wants you back home.”
Devoin processes this as Briana assures him, “And then also in there stuff about me, too, like she wants me to spend more time with your family. That’s why I set this all up.”
“She wants you to bridge the families,” he replies. Briana asks him what he’s thinking of doing about this.
“I understand why you left. I support it, you know, but at the same time, it’s tough to see her sad and down. And now, hearing this is this like motivation for you to make plans to try to come back?โ she asks.
“It’s a lot for me to figure out. Honestly, I dropped everything I’ve had here and went there. I would literally have to do the same thing again and come back here. And I can’t just go home and snap my fingers and be back home,” he begins.
“But I mean, I definitely noticed change in her. Stop writing me, and I know she got her phone on her.”
Briana admits she asked Nova about ignoring her dad’s texts, noting, “I was, like, ‘I see that your dad texted with you and like, how come? Is that your way of telling him that you’re angry that he left?’ and she was, like, ‘Yeah.'”
“I understand both parties and what they’re going through and how they feel like, ‘What do I do now?’ ” she asks.
“I didn’t know she was going through all that. It hurts,” Devoin acknowledges, adding, “One party is more important than the other, and that’s Nova.”
“It’s up to us parents to try to help her heal and all the mistakes that we’ve made,” Briana replies.
“I gotta figure it out ASAP, before she just say…” Devoin says.
“Yeah, we want to avoid that,” Briana agrees.

She asked fans to understand that she’s not comparing Luis, Stella’s father, and Devoin because she believes “Devoin has potential to be the greatest father on earth.”
As fans gave Devoin credit for showing up for both Stella and Nova, Briana noted, “Two things can exist at the same time. Him not fully being there for Nova and treating Stella like a human being. Devoin doesn’t have to be nice to anyone but Nova and I appreciate his kindness to all and it never goes unnoticed, but stop making excuses for things in regards to Nova just because he cares for Stella.”
She also made a point to “shout out to Devoin’s whole family for loving Stella frfr, it makes me so happy! Stella loves all of them and we appreciate it so much!”
As for Devoin’s next move, she said she and his family all want him to come back, “But nobody is forcing him to do anything. We will support him but we will also hold him accountable, !”
