He questions how much success she’s really having with her new foster daughter Eliza. Roo fires back by suggesting that Alf could be helping her more.

She admits that she doesn’t trust Roo’s promises, as too many other adults have let her down.

She insists that things will be different this time.

She realises that Eliza has been through much more than she thought.

He warns Mali that Abigail now thinks he’s having an affair. Mali is urged to sort out the situation if Abigail has the wrong end of the stick.

They chat at the caravan park.

She needs someone to take a look at Eliza’s burn wound from the fire that took place before she moved to the Bay.

He spends some time with Eliza.

Her unique outlook on life leaves Alf feeling slightly unsettled.

He hopes to strike up a bond with Eliza.

Alf speaks about his time in Vietnam. Eliza pointedly asks how it was to watch people die.

She later spots an opportunity to steal one of them…
