On January 28, Chelsea Houska shared with Instagram followers that their family pet pig, Pete, has passed away.
The reality family has welcomed many animals into their home and onto their farm. However, Pete was “more than just a pet.”
Chelsea shared an emotional message for Pete, along with throwback clips of the pig.
Along with her farewell tribute, Chelsea posted a sweet photo of Pete. She even shared a throwback video from an episode of Teen Mom when she and Cole DeBoer first got the pig.
“I’ve wanted this for so long,” Chelsea said in the throwback video. “I waited until I was with someone that said I could do it.
The couple were shown on their way to pick up Pete for the first time, and even joked they had a child.
Chelsea expressed her love for Pete noting she was “not great with words” but “needed to at least try to elaborate how [she] was feeling.”
“This is a tremendous loss to our family. I think this one stings extra because Pete symbolized more than just a pet,” the 32-year-old wrote.
“Pete symbolized a new chapter in mine and Aubree’s life. I have dreamed of having a farm for a very very long time. I dreamed of having a big family, a loving husband, and a farm full of funny animals. Pete was the first,” she added.
