Home and Away actor’s lover shares his hidden motives
Should Rose be worried?
Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.
Home and Away newcomer Zara Campbell tries to reunite with her ex-boyfriend Mali Hudson on UK screens next week.
Show bosses are introducing Matilda Brown in the role of Zara, who arrives in Summer Bay to reconnect with Mali.
As we’ve previously revealed, Zara confidently introduces herself to Xander Delaney as Mali’s “promised wife”.
Mali assures Xander that this is a cultural tradition but not one that his family takes seriously. Xander isn’t entirely convinced, wondering what it all means for his sister Rose, who’s currently dating Mali.

In next week’s episodes on Channel 5, Xander tips off Rose about Zara. Rose decides that she needs to drop by at Mali’s place to find out more.
At the farmhouse, Zara praises Mali for how he has clearly grown in maturity since they were a couple. She reminds him that he promised to wait for her when they broke up – and declares that she’s now ready to be with him.
The conversation is interrupted by Rose’s arrival. Zara stirs up trouble by revealing that she and Mali were each other’s first love, but Mali plays it down as ancient history.
Once Rose leaves for the night, Zara resumes her efforts to convince Mali that they have potential together.

Later in the week, Zara crosses further boundaries by gatecrashing Mali and Rose’s breakfast date and making pointed comments about her history with Mali.
Zara also makes contact with Mali’s mother, convinced that she’ll back her up. In a phone conversation, Mali’s mum reminds him of his obligation to help friends and family when they’re in need, which will mean continuing to give Zara a place to stay.
When Mali tries to explain this to Rose, she’s baffled that he has invited Zara to stay for as long as she wants. Will Zara succeed in driving a wedge between Mali and Rose?
