“Unhealthy for me”- The Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador discusses uncertainty about the future

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 reunion will air exclusively on Bravo TV on November 7, 2024. Since the reunion episode has already been filmed, this season’s cast members, including Shannon Beador, had some thoughts regarding her return.

In an exclusive interview with People Magazine on October 31, 2024, Shannon shared she was unsure if she would return as a cast member of the hit Bravo reality TV series. Reflecting on the reunion and the tensions within the friend group, Shannon alleged that “some people” from the cast were “very unhealthy to be around.”

She also mentioned that she was working on herself to become a better person, trying to manage her emotions, and establishing personal boundaries. The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member said:

“[It] depends on who I would be on the season with. And I’m not saying that in a threatening way. I experienced some time with people that were very unhealthy for me to be around.”

During her interview, Shannon Beador reflected on her time on the Bravo show this season. She stated that while the show was being filmed, she was facing a tough situation in her life which was “very difficult to go through.”

As fans know, Shannon’s relationship with her boyfriend, John Janssen, had ended before the filming began. Then, the new cast member, Alexis Bellino, joined the other housewives and disclosed that she was dating Shannon’s ex John. Throughout the season, things got heated within the friend group as tensions arose.

In her interview with People Magazine, Shannon stated she wants to make healthy life choices:

“That’s important in my life right now, to make healthy choices and to separate myself from toxic situations.”

Despite the tough time in her life, The Real Housewives of Orange County star wanted the viewers to notice how she has evolved as a person. Shannon noted she can now handle her emotions, work through them, and maintain boundaries with others around her. She further elaborated about embarking on a journey toward becoming a better individual, saying:

“And you can see it — I look exhausted. I’m puffy. I wasn’t good. So I’m happy. I hope that people will see that I am taking life seriously and I’m doing whatever I can in my power to better my life to become a better person.”

Shannon expressed that she did not seek empathy from viewers but rather wanted them to recognize the progress she has made in working on herself. Shannon explained:

“But really what matters is what I think. I hope they enjoy the show … I hope that people say, ‘Okay, she’s working on herself, so good for her,’ but I don’t need pats on the back. I don’t need sympathy. I got it, and I feel strong about that.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s season 18 reunion will be split into three parts, starting on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Bravo TV.
