Good news for first-time mom: Real Housewives star announces pregnancy at 60, congratulations
Former “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Monica Garcia revealed she is pregnant with her fifth child.
While speaking to People magazine in March 2025, Garcia shared that she and her boyfriend, Braxton Knight, are expecting their first child together. Garcia’s ex-husband Mike Fowler is the father of her four children, Bri, Jaidyn, West, and Kendall.
Garcia also told the publication that she decided to tell Knight she was pregnant while they were spending time together at Disneyland.
“My best friend, Koa, helped me pull it all off,” said Garcia to the publication. “Koa had picked out the infant ears hat at the Mad Hatter and had ‘Aries Baby’ embroidered on them while I distracted Braxton with churros and getting my cotton candy. I told him while we were on Peter Pan, flying over NeverLand.”
Garcia said she does not know whether she is expecting a boy or a girl. She also requested suggestions for names for her new addition.
“We are really struggling in the name department. Send us all your name suggestions!” said Garcia.
Garcia’s baby is expected to arrive in April 2025.
Monica Garcia Explained Why She Kept This Pregnancy Private
While speaking to People magazine, Garcia explained why she did not reveal her pregnancy until now. She referenced that she had a miscarriage in April 2024.
“Being able to protect my peace was so important to me this pregnancy. I’m grateful for those that have stood beside me, to the amazing fans, and loved ones I do have in my life, but that miscarriage was my lowest point with being in the public eye and I wasn’t going to put myself through that again, for the sake of the pregnancy and the baby,” said Garcia.
In addition, she said that “God has been there for [her] every single step of the way” of this pregnancy.
“I have been so blessed and been silent about all of it. I just hope someone reads this and it resonates with them on some level. Reminds them that no matter what people do to you, say about you, or try to take from you, they can NEVER take what God has for you,” continued Garcia.
Monica Garcia Left RHOSLC After 1 Season
Garcia left RHOSLC after filming its 4th season. While recording a July 2024 interview on the “Behind The Velvet Rope” podcast, Garcia said that her contract was not renewed because the rest of the RHOSLC cast did not want her back on the show. As fans are aware, Heather Gay discovered that Garcia was help running the RHOSLC-focused Instagram account, Reality Von Teese, before she joined the cast of the Bravo show.
Garcia also said that the network told her she would not be filming for RHOSLC season 5 in a kind way.
“They were wonderful. They were very, very sweet,” said Garcia during the interview.
Bronwyn Newport Said the Cast Was Not Trusting of Her Because of Monica Garcia
During a November 2024 interview with Us Weekly, Bronwyn Newport, who joined the RHOSLC cast during its 5th season, said the cast did not trust her because of their past experiences with Garcia. Newport said she did not understand her co-stars’ concerns because she had not watched past seasons of RHOSLC before filming season 5. She said, however, now that she has watched all of RHOSLC, she has a better understanding of their reactions.
“In the moment, when they were hard on me, I was like, ‘Where is this coming from?’ Whereas now that I’ve gone back and watched it, I’m like, ‘That was probably fair,’” said Newport to Us Weekly.
