Tammin Sursok knows the pain of pregnancy loss well and has been open about her experience with miscarriage in the past.
Now, she’s penned an emotional post about rainbow babies, sharing a beautiful message to her daughter Lennon on her birthday.
The Aussie actress admitted there was a time where she was ‘afraid’ to love her, but that all changed on the day she was born.
“They said there is something different about rainbow babies. I didn’t understand what they meant until I met you,” she wrote.

“After so many loses I didn’t want to connect with you in my womb. I was too afraid to love you. I spend most of my pregnancy disconnected so I could protect my heart.
“And then after 9 months, at 10 pounds, I met you. And you saved me. You saved us.”
Sursok went on to share how lucky they are that this happened.

“My baby girl, someone somewhere higher, on a plane that I am yet to understand, injected you into our family. Into our world and as I drift off to slumber each night, I thank whatever magical force, for making you ours,” she continued.
She ended the heartfelt post with a beautiful message to Lennon as she turned six.

“Happy 6th birthday my spunky, funny, logical, thoughtful, intelligent love of my life. Who loves sardines and poached eggs over ice cream and pizza, rap or musicals over kids tunes, asks if dolphins blink and if dads cry. Says her perfect day is nails and traveling to a new place and who once said ‘I mean I am the only stable one in the family’ … which we all know is true,” she wrote.
“I love you, I love you, I love you. Always have….always will. Every night I thank you for choosing us. I thank you.”
Sursok’s followers praised her for sharing such a lovely message, and the adorable family snaps she posted too.
“Oh mumma this brought me to TEARS,” commented one follower.
Another wrote, “Beautiful and raw. Thank you for sharing.”
“Happy 6th birthday sweet girl! Rainbow babies truly are a gift from above,” replied another user.
Sursok has spoken candidly about the loneliness she felt as she suffered multiple miscarriages between welcoming her two daughters, Phoenix and Lennon.

“I was so lonely. I was pregnant for two-and-a-half years and no one knew about it and I had social anxiety,” she told 9Honey Parenting.
“I was pregnant, then I wasn’t pregnant, then I was pregnant again, then I wasn’t pregnant.”
Sursok believes the tradition of keeping pregnancy a secret during the first trimester means there is no support for a woman if she suffers a loss, which is why it can feel so isolating.
