Home and Away‘s Irene Roberts is rushed to hospital on UK screens next week.
The Summer Bay favourite requires emergency treatment after a drunken accident at home.
Viewers have seen Irene suffer a sad relapse with her alcoholism as she’s struggling to cope with the revelation of Bronte Langford’s cruel deception.
In next week’s episodes on Channel 5, Irene continues trying to hide the extent of her drinking from her friends.

Irene hides a flask of booze in her bag before heading to work at the Diner. When Irene arrives, she overhears her friends talking about her and gets upset.
Fearing that she’s the centre of gossip, Irene hides in the Diner’s store room and takes a huge swig from the flask.
Before long, Irene’s drinking affects her performance at work as she’s responsible for three incorrect orders.
Leah confronts Irene for messing up, which prompts Irene to storm out.

Once home, Irene orders her lodgers Harper and Dana Matheson to clear out for the day and pours herself another drink.
When Irene heads upstairs, she becomes unsteady on her feet and suffers a terrible fall down the stairs.
Irene’s accident is only discovered much later when Harper arrives home, finding her with a possible concussion.
Harper takes Irene straight to hospital, but will she finally get the help she needs?
