Home and Away stars mourn Jessica … at her funeral
Home and Away stars have gathered in Sydney today to mourn the loss of former co-star Jessica Falkholt who tragically lost her life after a fatal car crash on Boxing Day.
Jessica, who was on the rise to stardom, passed away on Wednesday after fighting for her life in a critical condition for almost a month since the crash that also claimed the lives of her parents and sister.
A funeral service was held at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Concord, where the 29-year-old actress was laid to rest and hundreds of mourners gathered to say their farewells.
Fellow Home and Away cast and crew members including Pia Miller, Philippa Northeast, Isabelle Giovinazzo and Jackson Heywood were among those in attendance.
Jackson Heywood had also posted a tribute on Instagram last week, writing:
“Jess. You and your beautiful soul will be so deeply missed, but always remembered. Be with your family now. Goodbye you wonderful person. Love always, Jackson. May we send all support to her family and closest friends who are hurting the most. Thankyou.”
Jessica and her sister Annabelle had been passengers in their parents’ car when it collided with another car on Boxing Day, on the Princes Highway, north of the Bendalong turnoff.
Parents, Lars Falkholt, 69, and Vivian Falkholt, 60 tragically died at the scene, while Jessica and Annabelle were rushed to hospital with Annabelle to pass away only three days later.
A funeral was held earlier this month at the same church to farewell the three members of the Falkholt family.
Jessica had a bright future ahead of her in the entertainment industry.
The actress joined the cast of Home And Away last year, playing Hope, the cousin of Olivia Deeble’s character Raffy Morrison.
She appeared in a 16-episode arc on the popular Channel Seven soap.
