Home and Away‘s Harper Matheson’s big baby secret gets even closer to coming out next week, as another Summer Bay resident learns about her pregnancy.
Ever since Harper found out that she is expecting a baby following a one-night stand with Tane Parata, she has only confided in her sister Dana about the situation, and has been adamant that nobody else should find out just yet.
Unfortunately for Harper, Dana’s boyfriend Xander Delaney accidentally discovers the baby news this week when he overhears the sisters’ conversation, and next week sees the secret spread again.

As Harper gets ready for her first ultrasound scan, she starts to feel overwhelmed by the number of decisions that are involved with pregnancy, and feels the pressure of the responsibility.
Seeing that her sister is struggling, Dana suggests again that she should share the news with the baby’s father, Tane. But Harper continues to insist that she will speak to him when the time is right, and Dana is forced to back off again.
When Harper questions Dana on whether she’s told anyone about the baby, Dana lies that nobody else knows, as she covers the fact that Xander has found out after he initially suspected that Dana was pregnant.

As Dana and Tane come face to face, Dana claims that Harper is ill with a sickness bug and so hasn’t been able to contact him. Despite Dana warning Tane off and claiming that Harper needs to be left alone for now, he ignores her advice and goes to check up on Harper.
Panicked Harper jumps to the conclusion that Dana has spilled the beans to Tane, but she relaxes when it becomes clear that Tane thinks she has a virus.
After he checks on Harper’s wellbeing, he also decides to ask for her advice on how he should handle teenager Perri Hayes and his struggles with reading.
It isn’t long, though, before Harper realises that Dana has lied to her, and that Xander knows about the baby. Dana assures Harper that she didn’t tell him outright, and that he only learned the truth because he overheard them talking.

When Dana arrives at Xander’s for dinner, she quickly tells Xander just how important it is for him to keep quiet about Harper’s pregnancy. Unfortunately for Dana, she doesn’t realise that Xander’s sister Rose Delaney is in the house, and she’s heard everything.
Rose can barely contain her excitement and she’s keen to know who the baby’s father is, but the development causes even more headaches for Dana as she desperately tries to keep the news under wraps.
With more and more people learning about Harper’s pregnancy, how long will Harper be able to keep the truth from Tane?
Home and Away airs these scenes on Tuesday, September 24 and Wednesday, September 25 at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
