As Kyle Richards has proven time and time again during Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she’s more than willing to discuss her split from Mauricio Umansky — even the hardest parts.
During Episode 4 on Dec. 10, Kyle chatted with a producer about what she thinks the scariest part of her split is.
“The idea that maybe I could be alone alone as an old person scares me. I mean, wasn’t I supposed to be off with my partner traveling the world and having someone in my bed next to me until the day I die?” she said during an interview. “That’s been the scariest part of this whole process, just not knowing. What does the end look like?”
Kyle’s admission came after a conversation with Garcelle Beauvais about the ongoing breakup. The actress, who had also been through a divorce of her own, lent Kyle an ear while they were vacationing in Oceanside, California.
“It is scary when your kids leave, you know?” Kyle shared. “People say that, you know, [being a parent is] not my whole identity. That actually was my whole identity. I mean, I’m a mom and a wife.”
The mother of four said that for the last two years she’d been figuring out who she is without Mauricio and without the constant need to take care of her children now that they’ve (mostly) grown up.
“It’s like, am I going to be alone like this?” she said. “That scares me — the not knowing.”
Garcelle listened to Kyle before offering her some wisdom.
“You know, it’s just a different time in our lives. And I think we’re all figuring it out,” she said.

No, Kyle and Mauricio aren’t officially divorced — neither of them have filed despite splitting in the summer of 2023.
“At the end of the day, I have to do what feels right to me,” Kyle said during a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show episode following Episode 2. “And I did not feel ready to go do that, and I’ll know when that’s time to do that.”

Am I a crazy dog lady? Maybe!”
