an you believe that it’s almost time for Portia Umansky to head to college? We can’t. When we first met Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s youngest daughter on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010, she was an adorable baby with a whole head of curly hair and three big sisters who were obsessed with her. Now, she’s (almost) all grown up and planning her future — with her family’s help, of course.
In The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show video above, Kyle shared an update on Portia’s plan for her college career. Though she previously said that her dream college was The University of Miami, where she’d study sports management, she might have another ideal school now.
“Portia has changed her mind a couple times, but we will be touring different schools. Allegedly, she wants her dad, her mom, and her three sisters to all come look at these schools so we can make this decision together,” Kyle explained. “And I’m like, ‘Well … I don’t know if that’s how it’s normally done. But hey. I guess we’re not normal.’”

How Kyle Richards feels about Portia moving out to attend college
Though Kyle has previously expressed worry about what it will feel like to be an empty nester, her new visions are a little less bleak.
“You know, I’ve been a mom what feels like my whole life. Since [I was] 19 years old. And everything has been about doing everything for everyone else,” she said. “When Portia goes to college, it’s going to be quite an adjustment that I don’t really have to really think about, ‘Oh, I have to be home for this.’ Or ‘Oh, I can’t go away because of this.’ Right now my life is still built very much around Portia’s schedule, so it’s going to be interesting to all of a sudden have that freedom to do what I want.”
Is Kyle Richards moving out of Los Angeles?
Once Portia leaves, Kyle doesn’t see herself sticking in one spot for long.
“I feel like I’m always going to be in Aspen, LA, somewhere else. I don’t know, I feel like at that point I can do what I want with my life,” she said. “I don’t have to stay in one place. I don’t know, maybe I’ll live on a farm. I’ll live on a farm, I’ll live in Aspen, I’ll live in LA, I’ll live in La Quinta. I’ll just kind of bop around.”
As for what Sophia Umansky — who also lives at home since graduating college — will do?
“Sophia will either still be living with me or not,” Kyle added. “A psychic said she’s my life partner, so maybe she’ll still be living with me.”
