Sad news: ‘Real Housewives’ star hospitalized overnight, initial cause believed to be suicide by taking pills
On December 26, “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Bronwyn Newport shared a very personal update. On her Instagram Stories, Newport shared that her mom has a brain tumor.
“I am so scared and worried, but my mom has helped so many over the years. And refused help for herself always. It is an honor to get to be the one who is here,” Newport wrote.
“I spent all afternoon with her in the ER, and then Christmas Eve too,” she continued.
Newport said that her father had broken his pelvis about a month back. The “strain” has been really hard on her mom, she added.
Bronwyn Newport’s Mom Previously Had a Brain Tumor
In another post on her Instagram Stories, Newport explained that she saw a decline in her mom’s health.
“After a few falls herself and a few doctors visits that weren’t productive something clicked in my brain. My mom had similar dizzy, confused and exhausted symptoms almost 30 years ago when she had a brain tumor,” Newport wrote.
Her mom was rushed to the hospital in California. Newport went directly to see her after getting off a flight from Utah.
“We received the bad news I was both expecting and not. I don’t remember everything from when my mom was so sick when I was little but something also felt oddly familiar,” Newport said, adding, “My mom again has a tumor in the back of her skull, in an almost identical location to the one she had Thanksgiving week almost 30 years ago.”
Bronwyn Newport’s Mom Is Expected to Make a Full Recovery
Newport was in the hospital with her mom ahead of brain surgery.
“She’s going into major surgery today and we are so hopeful after a long recovery she’ll be her usual, feisty and amazing self,” Newport wrote on her Instagram Stories on December 26. She then took a moment to share some feelings of “rage.”
“The whispers of gossip about my family, and how we have handled trying to allow my mom her independence and letting her come to terms with needing and accepting help have gotten back to me,” she began.
“Those who felt my choice to be on Bravo and or posting contractually obligated and pre-filmed things online while I was at the same time trying to quietly help my parents and not yet share about this all…. and then talked behind my back or worse online about me is despicable. Especially those of you who have benefitted from my mother’s kindness to you or your families over the years,” she added.
On December 27, Newport said that she was bringing her mom some hot chocolate, which suggests that things went okay.
