Schockierend: Bei GZSZ-Star wird Krebs im Endstadium diagnostiziert … kurz nachdem seine Frau schwanger wurde
Double joy for “GZSZ” actor Lennart Borchert: The 25-year-old actor and his girlfriend Louisa Paul, who is the same age, are expecting their first child. It’s particularly emotional news, as Borchert had overcome severe testicular cancer a few years ago.
He shared his joy on Instagram with a couple’s photo clearly showing her baby bump, along with an ultrasound image. “1 + 1 = 3 – a little miracle is on the way. Our next chapter begins now and promises to be the most beautiful story. Our baby is coming in 2025”, the father-to-be commented on the sweet baby news.
Unexpected Joy During Vacation
In an interview with “RTL”, the Berlin native describes the moment he learned about the pregnancy: “Honestly, no, I had no premonition. Louisa had taken a negative test the night before, so we were sure it hadn’t worked yet.” The next morning brought the surprise: “She woke me up, showed me the new test. Positive – and I could hardly believe it.”
The joyful event occurred during the young couple’s vacation in Cape Town, South Africa. “It was a very intimate, romantic moment that we simply enjoyed together”, Borchert shares. “Of course, we immediately started thinking about how to tell our parents and made initial plans for the nursery – it was truly an exciting feeling.”
When asked which feelings came first – anticipation or respect for the responsibility – Lennart Borchert has a clear answer: “Definitely pure happiness.” The seriousness and respect for the responsibility would probably only really set in when the child is born. But at that moment, it was simply pure joy.
After overcoming his cancer, Borchert sees the pregnancy as a special gift: He says he never really imagined becoming a father before. “But after my testicular cancer and the fact that I only have one testicle left, I saw it as a kind of sign. I was lucky – others might not have the opportunity to become parents. That’s why I consider it an incredible gift to become a father.”
A Sign After Serious Illness
Borchert describes his cancer treatment as a “huge challenge”. Five years ago, at age 20, he was in the oncology ward, “and with COVID restrictions preventing visitors, it was absolute horror”. Two things particularly helped him during this difficult time: Humor was the most important thing in life, he says. Without humor, you lose your smile, and that incredibly helped him get through the difficult time. The exchange with other affected individuals was also a great support.
The actor has clear ideas about his upcoming role as a father: “I want to simply be present, be there for my child, and enjoy our time together. Everything else will develop over time.” He’s supporting his girlfriend Louisa throughout the pregnancy: “I support Louisa wherever I can – with doctor’s appointments, setting up the nursery, and in daily life.” He tries to have her back so she can focus on what she needs.
Shared Anticipation
Mother-to-be Louisa Paul also shares her feelings in the interview: “I was overjoyed and have been excited ever since.” After initial typical pregnancy symptoms, her energy is slowly returning. The couple is consciously enjoying this special phase: “We make sure I rest regularly when I need it. We also spend a lot of time with our family, go for walks, and thoroughly enjoy this special phase.”
They don’t want to reveal whether it’s a boy or a girl yet – “That remains a beautiful surprise”, Louisa laughs. “The most important thing for us is that our baby is born healthy and well.”
With his story, Lennart Borchert also wants to encourage others: Medicine is incredibly advanced nowadays and constantly evolving. It’s important not to panic because the chances of recovery are often very good. “So stay positive – there’s always hope! Regular check-ups are crucial”, says Lennart Borchert.
