Teddi Mellencamp breaks silence with devastating health update about her brain tumor surgery

Teddi Mellencamp has broken her silence on her health woes after undergoing emergency surgery earlier this month to remove brain tumors.In a devastating update, Mellencamp, 43, has revealed that doctors have now found more tumors on her brain and that ‘the fight is not over.’ The statement included a selfie from her hospital bed with a shaved head, along with  a scan of her tumors. ‘

I am so grateful for the incredible surgeons, doctor, and nurses who made my surgery a success and my recovery process comfortable,’ she posted to her Instagram on Wednesday.’In full transparency, more tumors were removed than expected: 4 in total.

‘Teddi underwent emergency surgery earlier this month to remove recently-discovered brain tumors.In a statement posted to her Instagram at the time, Teddi revealed the tumors were discovered following ‘several weeks’ of ‘severe and debilitating headaches.’

The Bravo alum revealed she would be having two tumors removed that day, with the remaining ‘smaller tumors’ to be ‘dealt with via radiation at a later date.

‘Her brain tumors were discovered just three years after Teddi announced that she was diagnosed with stage II melanoma – the most dangerous form of skin cancer. She has undergone a total of sixteen procedures to remove the melanomas.

While it’s unclear what type of tumor has been discovered, skin cancer can spread to the brain and cause brain tumors, known as brain metastasis.’For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches.
